BLAH DERP

10 days until c-section, if she doesn't come before.

I am hot, sweaty, generally feeling nasty.

STOP TELLING ME SHE'S ALMOST HERE. ALMOST HERE DOES NOT FEEL LIKE ALMOST HERE WHEN I AM PUKING 24/7.

Thank you.

Give me your tips on getting her to come early. Ha, I know, she won't come until she's ready, blah, blah, blah,

BLAH-FREAKING-BLAH.

GIVE ME YOUR TIPS.

Oh, and you have been officially introduced to the ugly underbelly of foster care.

Thank me later.

Ugh, this is the worst part of the pregnancy. My babies were 2 and 3 weeks late, so I have 0 advice for getting her out early, apart from crying to the doctor that you HAVE to get this thing out RIGHTNOW. Then maybe you'll get your C-section moved up. :)

I'm only in my first trimester, but so not looking forward to the end (though I'll be very happy if I make it to then, of course). Sorry to hear the parents were bratty.

Just wanted to mention that the 'have sex' thing does not work! Save your energy!! Good luck and I love following your blog. I don't think I have commented before!

Yup, like My Life said, sex did it for us! I was in heavy labor within 7 hours after. : )

I'm sure you know all the home remedies...sex, massage on pressure points, running/jogging, eating spicy foods, drinking castor oil...I won't bore you. My tip would be to do something nice for yourself that you really enjoy (i.e. maybe go to a coffee shop alone and read a book, get a pedicure, go on one last date with your man, etc). Praying for you chica!

Hmm, maybe you need to finalise the name. I heard people say that once they knew for sure what the name was (for those that still hadn't settled late in the day), things moved along. Of course that's total nonsense in my opinion, but maybe it's amusing?

A friend of mine (along with her dutiful husband) did something like 10 squats every hour over the course of like six or eight hours and went into labor that night. Good luck!

I had read that massaging your nipples would induce labor, and it worked on both of the pregnancys I tried it on! I went into labor within half an hour of trying it. I had read it in a baby book, though they recommend not trying it on your own as it can bring on intense labor. I didn't have any trouble, though I have always been one to have short intense labor anyways.
Good luck if you try it!

Hrrmm.

Balsamic vinegar and gingersnaps.

It couldn't hurt.

Also, something I noticed from lurking and sometimes participating on a zillion of those pregnancy message boards over the years. Oddly, I've read many birth stories of women whose water broke right after they took hot showers. Often, it broke when they were stepping out. My theory is that the heat weakens the membrane somehow.

pray. pray. and pray some more. i prayed so much "Lord, please let my water break...please, PLEEEASE let my water break." i feel for ya-this part just plain SUCKS. here's to hoping you get to meet her face to face soon!

With my first 2 sex was the trick...an hour after my water broke, with my last, and longest, I drank some castor oil with chocolate milk, and had my husband do the nipple stimulation...and hour later we were in full labor!! Good luck, praying for you!!

Severe kidney pain (kidney stones and maybe something else too?) did it for me. I don't recommend it. ;)

I totally agree...sex...it worked for me also. Try it if you are not too sick.
Good luck,
Susan

Sex, lots and lots and LOTS of walking, and a massage. Worked for both the last two. Good luck!

I have 2 tips. 1. I went into labor with my son almost immediately after communion at church, so perhaps grape juice? Or wine, as my ob always said to do. 2. Eggplant Parmesan from Scalini's in GA. Here's the link - they have the recipe on their website and people swear by it. http://www.scalinis.com/Bambino.htm
