Did i tell you that my bo*obs are really sag*gy? Like, "golf balls in tube socks" saggy. And did I tell you that I took Asher with me to Kohl's to help me find some new bras? And he grabbed a Wonderbra and gnawed on it for about 2 hours?
I was too cheap to buy any bra, so instead we have a welcome mat, 2 clearance shirts, and an Ariel nightgown for Lucy.
I am really nervous about tomorrow morning. We learn how to catheterize Lucy. We will be putting a catheter in her bladder every four hours from here to eternity. It makes me sad.
That is why this post made me happy.

hi.
praying for you guys. catheterizing is no fun. but, a lot of people do it. (i know now that i'm a queen of the chronic bladder conditions.)
make sure they use lots of lydocaine jelley to numb it.
it will be fine.
okay - dude, I know you hang it all out there in some sort of "if I make fun of myself first, you can't" type of thing, but you need to have some respect for yourself.
That post made me happy, too! The Christian life simply is not all sunshine and roses....and it seems very deceiving, to me, to present it that way. Then people struggle with guilt and shame because they must be doing something wrong since they are struggling with whatever. That is just cruel, and makes me very angry. How much better to be open about our struggles, and how, often in retrospect, we can see how God, and the people He places in our path, had brought us through to the other side of it, and we have grown closer to Him and stronger in our faith as a result. That is real....and that is what people can relate to. And that is what YOU are so very gifted at doing Rach. Your transparency allows others to be at ease with you, to realize you will not judge, and to come alongside you to walk the path together. That is what growth and mentoring and discipleship is all about. The last month or so our church has been studying what it means to mentor, be a disciple, seek a mentor, and be willing to mentor others... And that all of us need to be on both ends of that throughout life. There is always someone who can mentor us in some areas as we grow and learn...and always someone, even just a small step behind us, who can benefit from what we have learned and experienced.
Seraphim, do you TRY to contradict every post I type, or does it just come naturally?
Rach, embrace the boobs. In one of my favorite episodes of Everybody Loves Raymond in which a neighbor gets a boob job and Ray is salivating over them, Debra yells at him that hers are "working boobs" and he can kiss her a$$ (that is the gist anyway!). Our boobs weren't useful before and now they are- so maybe this is their natural state and the pre-work days was the abnormal? :-)
Good luck tomorrow. And I love that post you linked.
naturally, naturally.
Did you know that...
Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo.
...is a grammatically correct sentence? It means Seraphim is right about everything!
LMAO. Pip - if I didn't, there wouldn't be any parity to the world...you'd spiral the whole universe out of control. Think of me like Yin to your yang. LMAO.
Don't make me lecture you on the importance of a properly-fitting bra. Buy at least two new bras. Please. You'll feel better about your golf balls and their tube socks.
Also, from those of us in the need of the Wonderbra - thank your son for the teeth marks on our new bras.
Fork over the cash for the decent bras, Rach. Your boobs will appreciate it, lol! :o)
Good luck with the dr. appt. HUGS!
My goodness, Seraphim! How does one live with the pressure of knowing that the fate of the universe lies in the control of said person? :)
Let me see..IMO=in my opinion
IMHO=in my humble opinion
LMAO=love my all-knowing opinion???
All in good humor, Seraphim...all in good humor! :)
Dangit, you mean I can't make fun of your boobs now that you've made fun of them first?! That just blows my day.
By the way, I hear a rumor that Victoria Secret has nursing bras now. I'm going through a boob/bra crisis myself and keep fantasizing that I'll somehow get myself over to VS, get professionally measured for the perfect bra and then be a hot mom.
Sending up prayers for you and your family.
Oh, and I used to hate to spend money on bras, too. But, I made an investment. Don't laugh, but I forked out the money to buy 2 Ipex bras from VS, and let me just say--they are the most comfortable AND they last forever, despite being expensive.
Good luck.
PS. I think all Christians struggle
at different times with their faith. Satan loves nothing more. Trust me, I know. Anyhow, one day a long time ago, I gave my burdens and troubles to the Lord. And, I haven't looked back. I feel peace. And, you will too--even if it takes awhile. God bless.
Frankly I don't understand - if I viewed all women through the lens of my own wife, I'd think I owned majority stock in Victoria Secrets bra section...
I thought women loved buying bra's...I see a new one every week it seems like.
seraphim -
If we're going to subscribe to the theory that women dress more to please the critical eyes of other women, not to please men, then it would follow that we would rather spend our money on clothing, shoes, accessories rather than undergarments. I would say that you should thank the Lord for your contributions to VS because it means (maybe?) that your wife dresses to please you rather than other women.
Disclaimer: this is just a theory based on sweeping generalizations that I did not make up. No one attack me for it!
Oh yeah, my husband is so upset with all the Victoria Secret underwear I strut around in.
It makes him so unhappy.
That and the stilletos makes for a real grumpy guy.
I think my wife revels the look on my face...you know the one -
that puzzled "is that new?/wow that's hot/how much did that cost?/seriously hot/I bet that was 40$/naked time" look.
My husband revels the money in the bank account more...
Rach -
My husband is on the same page as your husband. He also has that why-is-the-bra-even-still-on look.
praying for ya'll as you learn how to do the catheter. You are an awesome mama! And yes, you deserve a new bra! ;-0
